Paul Cormack, artist and designer, was educated at The Australian National Art School in Darlinghurst, Sydney. He continued his studies by exploring the museums and galleries of New York City where he lived and worked from 1973 till 2012 before relocating to Miami.
I create chromatic works inspired by landscapes and multicolored abstract visions of beauty that I see and experience in the world around me. I endeavor to express the joy and mysteries that dwell within my spirit and subconscious.
Most of my paintings take landscape as their subject and as a conceptual point of departure. I get inspiration capturing a plein air landscape image impression using watercolor or pastel on paper medium.
I believe that a landscape can also be experienced as abstract shapes and movement.
I primarily use abstraction and color to express enigmatic thoughts and feelings that intrigue me.
Quote from the great architect Louis Khan
“Art is a journey into the most unknown thing of all…oneself. Nobody knows his own frontiers”
