Paul Cormack, designer and artist, was educated at The Australian National Art School in Darlinghurst, Sydney.
His sense for employing color, easy to wear shapes, styles that are flattering while being unique, dominate his fashion and have made him a popular designer for his loyal customers. He is a lifelong painter never far from a paint brush and canvas or watercolor pad. Many of Paul’s original art works are hanging in private collections across the United States, Australia and Europe. He has also created digital printed scarfs featuring his original artwork available here in limited edition.
Paul arrived in New York City in the 70’s, soon his fashion collections were featured at Sak’s Fifth Ave, Bloomingdales and covered by Women’s Wear Daily. His designs continued to be successful nationally and specialty stores were quick to follow.
He is known for his silk chiffon bias cut dresses and coordinated separates. The designs have a timeless quality, looking fresh and elegant. Paul also has developed and refined a matte jersey line of easy to wear, flattering separates that travel well.
He is also combining his love of art and fashion to create a collection of hand painted silk resort dresses, caftans, kimonos, scarfs, and sarongs.
Paul has always designed his own shirts and jackets and is now working on a collection for men. Most recently he has been accepting commissions to create ‘haute couture’ for individual clients.
Paul has designed for many performers and cabaret singers. Tony winner and jazz great Dee Dee Bridgewater chose a Paul Cormack design for her album cover.
